Privathouse Koksijde

For Judiepedra, The Limestone Company from Portugal, Hans Wilschut photographed a remarkable private house in which minimalist architecture and natural stone come together with great refinement. The design is defined by clear lines, calm volumes and a careful use of light, allowing the spatial quality of the house to become visible in an almost effortless way.

The use of limestone plays a decisive role. The material gives the house an understated richness and connects the architecture to a longer tradition of building, craftsmanship and landscape. In the photographs, the emphasis lies on the relationship between form, material and atmosphere: how stone is not only a structural element, but also a carrier of tactility, silence and character.
