Santos

Hans Wilschut created a series on the Santos Building in Rotterdam, commissioned by the Nederlands Fotomuseum, Renner Hainke Wirth Zirn Architekten in Hamburg, and WDJ Architecten in Rotterdam.

The original warehouse, built between 1901 and 1902 to a design by J.P. Stok Wzn and J.J. Kanters, is regarded as a notable example of early twentieth century warehouse architecture in the city. For its transformation into the home of the Nederlands Fotomuseum, the building was renovated and extended to a design by Renner Hainke Wirth Zirn Architekten, and WDJ Architecten.
