Visions on Green

For Stichting De Stad Verbeeldt, Hans Wilschut created Visions on Green, a series of ten large-scale photographic works on greening in and around Zwolle. The images focus on the edges of the city, where nature, urban development and everyday use intersect, giving new meaning to the landscape.

The series includes a food forest, where ecology and production come together, a view of the river IJssel where humans and animals share land and water, and a houseboat district in which living and nature flow into one another.
The project was presented in a former NS machine factory in Zwolle during Visions On Green Cities Photofestival, in combination with the Zilveren Camera exhibition. In that setting, the works gained a particular tension, suspended between industrial history, contemporary image culture and a landscape in the midst of change.
