Art Island 2026

Those travelling to IJmuiden at the end of May can see the work of Hans Wilschut in Galerie van den Berge’s solo presentation at the Art Island art fair.

In this unusual setting, on the threshold between land, sea and industry, contemporary art quite literally enters a different atmosphere. This year, Art Island brings together thirty galleries in a place that already stirs something before you have even seen a single work. A visit to Art Island is, in any case, a little more adventurous than the average art fair, and that is precisely what makes it so appealing: looking at art takes on something of a crossing, a detour, a brief escape.
