The Slow Lowlands
With this first exhibition devoted to photography, Museum More, curated by Jurriaan van Kranendonk, presents a richly layered view of the Netherlands. In a distinctly Dutch selection, 21 artists show the country through a gradual shift in perspective, from sweeping landscapes to city and village, and from there to the human figure and the inner landscape of personal experience. Alongside photography, the exhibition also includes audiovisual art. Together, the works form a kaleidoscopic portrait of the Netherlands, in which the perspective continually shifts from the outside world to the inner world, from overview to intimacy.
Featuring works by Gunhild Ang, Céline van Balen, Wout Berger, Dicky Brand, Annejet Brandsma, Koos Breukel, Noor Damen, Wim van Egmond, Romy Finke, Tom Janssen, Tahné Kleijn, Natascha Libbert, Jan Koster, Hellen van Meene, Hans van der Meer, Samuel Otte, Gerco de Ruijter, Frank van der Salm, Bert Teunissen, Hans Wilschut, and Edwin Zwakman.
