New Metropolis Amsterdam Zuid oost

From the Bijlmerdreef, the process has been clearly visible in recent years: little by little, Frankemaheerd, an office complex of 40,000 square metres, is being devoured by enormous machines. Photographer Hans Wilschut captures this fascinating process in a series of striking photographs and then follows, with his camera, the arrival of a new addition to Amsterdam Southeast: the new ING office. On 31 January 2020, the exhibition of Wilschut’s photographs opens, accompanied by talks from various participants and experts about the demolition of Frankemaheerd and the circular reuse of the demolished materials.
