One Single Frame was made in Abu Dhabi and depicts a landscape that, at first glance, resembles a construction site, while at the same time retaining a striking sense of emptiness. Within this seemingly undefined space, only a single fence panel appears.
It is precisely this isolated element that forms the point of departure for the work. By incorporating the fence as a frame within the composition, Hans Wilschut introduces a second visual layer: the landscape is not only bounded, but also read as a cinematic image. In this way, the photograph subtly evokes the idea of a single frame, in which registration, cropping, and imagination converge.
